Fantastic experience: Fixed my back pain in no time at all

Fantastic experience: I went to Anthony with serious back and nerve issues causing problems throughout my whole body. Having been to a number of professionals over the years competing at high level sport, advance physio is streets ahead of anyone else. Anthony guided me through an extensive treatment process over an extended period of time and has returned my body to levels of wellness I didn’t believe possible. Extremely professional and expert service, couldn’t recommend enough.

Fantastic experience: Went to Anthony with a shoulder mobility issue. After consultation and a few short sessions, he diagnosed the problem and resolved it with ease and no reoccurence since. Highly recommended. Thanks Anthony.

Negative experience: I can’t recommend this physio clinic to be honest. The customer service is great and the clinic is clean, however when it comes to actual treatment and therapy there is nothing good to say. I came to this clinic with neck pain, and spent more time discussing it with the therapist than on the table receiving treatment. While I am aware it is important for the therapist to gain as much information as they can, prior to starting, the ‘treatment’ was absolutely useless. No massage, just gently ran his fingers across my neck and back. No adjustments, just tapped my shoulder a few times. After 5 minutes on the table I was asked if It was feeling better and obviously it felt the same as when I first came in because nothing was done. Nice clinic but the therapist was useless and charged 90€ for this. Not a great experience.

Fantastic experience: When I pulled up outside advance physio 5 weeks ago I was on two crutches bent over like a 90 year old man and couldn’t walk two steps . Well tomorrow iam looking forward to going for my first run in nearly 4 months thanks to the unbelievable treatment I have gotten from Anthony . Anyone who has a back problem I would highly recommend Anthony and all the staff at advance physio only for them I be still in pain and struggling to get back walking and doing day to day chores . Very very happy that I found advance physio .

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend advance Physio I had awful pain in my upper back shoulder and all down my right arm. After a few visits to my doctor still no better I went to see Anthony and on the first visit he identified the problem and put a plan in place. I'm now pain free and feel 100% . Fantastic experience: My experience with Advance Physio has been great. I had already visited a number of practices to deal with ongoing back pain. And while they provided short term relief, it always came back as bad as ever. I happened to be on holiday in the South East and looked up what was available there. I started treatment in August 2024 and finished in December and I have none of the back pain I used to have. Thanks so much to Anthony and Kate who run a very professional and effective service. Fantastic experience: I had pain in my lower back & hip for a few months. It was painful to even get dressed and really bothered me while playing tennis. Fantastic experience: Have gone to Anthony for two running injuries and after a few sessions each time I was back running with no issues! The care and attention Anthony takes to get to the root of the problem on the first visit is super and likewise with the treatment to follow. Fantastic experience: I have had issues with long-standing back pain and Anthony was recommended to me. I am so grateful to have been treated by him and delighted that my troublesome lumbar and thoracic back pain has abated after several sessions. Anthony is very personable and a highly competent and effective therapist. I felt very confident in his management and all the gentle reassuring advice. I’m really glad I kept going with the plan; as each session brought a bit more improvement slowly but surely. I am now able to exercise again and have much greater flexibility and movement. Fantastic experience: After 25 years plus of neck and back pain, having different therapies and medications Advance Physio Waterford was recommended to me by my GP. My first appointment was in October 2023, after a few weeks I began to have less pain and my movement was improving. This had a knock on affect in my daily life i.e. sleeping better, less medication and able to get through a day without being in acute pain. I would without hesitation recommend Anthony, he has given me a quality of life I didn't think was possible. Fantastic experience: Visited Anthony with lower lumbar pain after a light injury. After the initial consultation and 2 follow up treatments, the condition was fully reversed. Anthony also provided a series of suggested exercises to continue as a preventative measure. I found the whole process very easy and both he and Kate offer a very friendly, welcoming and most importantly an effective experience.

Fantastic experience: Ive had a back injury in December where my lower back got hurt. Ive had trouble walking, sitting and even sleeping in the beginning. Advance Physio team was very fast to see me for my initial appointment where an assesment and the first treatment was made! Ive felt immediate relief after the first treatment. Throughout all my follow up treatments, Anthony has always been engaged with me, professional and always ensured I understood what the treatment is and how will this resolve my problem. Words can't describe how amazing I feel after my treatment in Advance Physio! Kudos to Kate at the reception who always made sure to accommodate my booking requests! Fantastic experience: Top class service by Anthony on my 15 year old son’s rugby injury. We were worried it could be the ACL but thankfully it wasn’t. Anthony explained everything in everyday language, relieved the pain over a short course of treatments and advised on exercises to strengthen the ligament. I would strongly recommend Advance Physio.

Fantastic experience: I learned of Advance Physio Waterford from reading all the reviews from people who have attended. I would like to share my experience of Advance Physio Waterford. From the moment I rang to book an appointment this has been a life changer for me. I suffered for over 10 years with chronic back pain , soreness ,stiffness ,frustration,more sleepless nights then I care to remember,never ending prescriptions of anti inflammatory drugs,gels , injections,MRI,back clinics , numerous consultants in private hospitals everything. At the point of giving up and accepting my faith I came across this wonderful place. From the minute you walk in the door you are treated with kindness , understanding and respect. Kate's professionalism is second to none. After first consultation with Anthony he diagnosed my problem and set about a program of treatment dedicated to my particular problem. The progress I have made is simply astounding. No pain at all. No soreness or stiffness after exercise it truly is remarkable. It is not easy as you have to put in the work at home as well but Anthony gives you the tools to do this. I now have an understanding of my back and how to care for it that I never had before and this is priceless. Anthony is a gentleman and an absolute pleasure to deal with. This guy really is superb. Fantastic experience: I went to Anthony with a long term ankle and lower back issue. The pain previously had been unbearable at times and kept me from playing sports. After a few weeks of treatment I am once again playing and enjoying football. On top of this there are many examples of little things I wouldnt have been able to do which I can again. Fantastic experience: I went in to meet Anthony with a pulled neck muscle that seem to be happening regularly over the past few years. I’d been to Physio’s before to get it treated when it was sore but it never lasted. Anthony did a full assessment and instead of doing a quick fix wanted to try fixed long term so came up with a treatment plan. It’s been a month since I started and the pain has decreased almost to nothing and my movement is a 100 times better. I still have a few more sessions to go but I can’t wait to see the final outcome. I can’t thank Anthony and Kate enough for all the care and attention and their friendly yet professional attitude.

Fantastic experience: Simply the best. I had a sharp lower back pain for over an year which turned out to be sciatica. After a few sessions, the pain was gone. Anthony was really clear and easy to understand when sharing information about my problem and how to avoid it in the future. Staff is great, very friendly and extremely professional. There is sufficient parking spaces available, which is very helpful. Price is fair.

Fantastic experience: I suffer with arthritis in my knees for 20yrs and got worse as time went on. Very limited with what I could do. I used to do a lot of exercises and had to stop because it got worse as time went on, to the point where I couldn't even run for to catch the bus. I was told I need both knees replaced and put on a waiting list. I decide to do something about this, so I contacted Advance Physio and after the first treatment I was walking more confidently and instead of using knee supports Anthony just used tape just below the knee. I couldn't believe what i was experiencing. With followup sessions I am moving more confidently, able to go up and down the stairs easily cos this was an effort before. I would highly recommend Anthony to anyone who maybe thinking about using physiotherapy in the future.

Negative experience: I got a trapped nerve on my spine after first session which caused me to have pins and needles all over my arm and spasms. After a 6 minutes sessions, he asked how was I feeling, I told, ok, but my left arm got worse, so did my hip. This was my second visit. I told him my shoulder was worse and he told me: I warned you, you would feel some discomfort. I replied saying, I know what discomfort from physio is, this is something different. He didn't seem to bother checking and told me, you will see it next week, you should feel better after today's session. I didn't get better, only worse.

Fantastic experience: 4 weeks into treatment for a chronic longterm shoulder condition and the transformation is absolutely miraculous. Pain is significantly reduced and there's no doubt that day to day my quality of life has been transformed. This is especially impressive as my previous physio exasperated the injury. And it is so easy to unintentionally make it worse. After every treatment with Advanced Physio there are measurable improvements and I'm daring to think it may completely recover. This was unimaginable less than 4 weeks ago. Treatment is not complete, I'll update this review when it is. However I've absolutely no hesitation in recommending Advance Physio. They are friendly, professional and extremely effective at what they do. [Edit July 2022: Treatment phase complete after 2.5 months. My shoulder feels almost completely back to normal. I had not dared to imagine I would ever get to this point. The instability and chronic pain are gone. I have returned to activities which I had honestly written off as activities I would never be able to do again. I cannot thank Anthony enough. I would 100% recommend Advance Physio.]

Fantastic experience: When I started with Anthony I had chronic back and leg pain. After a short few sessions I noticed great improvement and I am still improving every day. Anthony did a full assessment and diagnosis and gave me excercises to do every day at home. This has made a huge difference to my well being. Negative experience: Worst physio I hacen been 90 euros for been waiting and writing what happens , second session 10 minutes with a machine 45 euros. 135 in total for 20 minutes of treatment.

Fantastic experience: First time i came into Advance Phisio i couldn't walk and had curved spinal ,my right leg was numbed and had really bad back pain that left me with no other options then to call emergency but after my wife found this clinic i had to give a chance, after very ffirst session i felt much better which gave me hope, after attending all session i can say that back pain never happened to me.Anthony is a magician and i love his work, and the service is excellent,even thoigh you might think its only 10mins, but that got me back on my feet A big thank you to the staff and Mr. Anthony. Fantastic experience: I fell in the shower and hurt my back. I had extreme back pain when trying to walk or carry out simple household chores. Also severe pain turning in bed. After several treatments the pain eased and eventually I was free from pain.

Fantastic experience: Would recommend Advance Physio Waterford if suffering any type of back pain. They very friendly and professional. When I suffered severe back pain Advance Physio Waterford offered an emergency appointment and quick diagnoses. The treatment worked extremely well and I was back to full health within a couple of weeks.

Fantastic experience: After birthing my child expected to start feeling better as the weeks were passing by but that wasn't the case I was actually more in pain physically as the weeks were passing. At my 6 weeks postpartum check up my GP suggested a physiotherapist. At 8 weeks postpartum I was in severe pain basic things like walking, dressing up, getting off the bed, seating down or getting up became very difficult for me so I told myself that it's about time I find me a physiotherapist I then conducted my own research and I came across the Advanced Physio I went in not knowing what was the issue to be treated for all I could tell them was I AM IN SO MUCH PAIN so Anthony and his team helped to identify the problem. I was diagnosed with SPINAL SHIFT this happens in pregnancy due to the weight of carrying the foetus, so I commenced my treatment on the same day and Just after 3/12 sessions the pain dropped by 85% I can now carry on with my daily routines such as walking, dressing up, seating down or getting up without grunting all thanks to Anthony and his team Alma and Kate they are so friendly. At Advance Physio they don't just treat your problems but they also educate you about your body. Anthony explained me about the spine and its elements and that gave me a clearer picture on what I was dealing with in which I think it helps the healing process in your mind. I strongly and highly recommend the Advance Physio

Fantastic experience: After a broken upper calf and three surgeries with major stiffness and very weak leg muscles I visited Advance Physio. From the first treatment I could already see improvement. After only six weeks I don’t need my walking sticks anymore and I can go for a walk with my children to Winterval. I cannot thank Anthony and his great team enough for the best Christmas gift that I didn’t believe could happen.

Fantastic experience: When I hurt my lower back I thought I was in for the long haul trying to get it sorted but I couldn’t have been more wrong. I met with Anthony and Kate at my first appointment and both of them talked me through everything from diagnosis to treatment and aftercare. After my first session I was sore but from then on it steadily improved and after a couple of weeks I was pain free and have not looked back. Anthony gave me exercises to do at home which helped and I still do them twice a day. Also Anthony gives a little talk( about 15 mins) to newbies explaining the workings of the back and shows exercises to keep the back healthy. Fantastic experience: Anthony and his team provide a fantastic service. To begin with, everyone is so friendly in the clinic. I was suffering with severe back pain, which meant some mornings I was struggling to get out of bed. Within 3 sessions I started to feel some serious improvement. After a few more, I've been pain free. I'm delighted with the progress that's been made.

Fantastic experience: I have just finished my treatment with Advance Physio Waterford. When I went to this practice I found getting out of bed so painful my back was stiff and sore,I was unable to get a full night's sleep. After my treatment I am now sleeping all night and no pain or stiffness in the morning such a relief. Everyone in this practice are so professional and so friendly ,I am so grateful to them all .

Fantastic experience: I had the regular aches and pains that you deal with on a daily basis but when I began to suffer from sciatica it was a different story altogether. I made an appointment with Anthony in advance physio who was recommended to me by my daughter as she had suffered awful pains and was cured by Anthony. People were telling me that sciatica could last a very long time but after two sessions in advance physio it was gone! I couldn't believe it. Then Anthony began to work on the other aches and pains that I had and has sorted all of them. I'm now going to Anthony one session a month for maintenance. I highly recommend Anthony Alma and Kate for their pure professionalism and patient care. I am now living pain free thank god. And by the way I'm 70 years of age. Fantastic experience: Advance Physio Waterford has a tremendous reputation over the past few years. Anthony & his team are very professional and give advice and treatment to there clients. I suffered from lower back problems, so I came to see Anthony and he did a full diagnosis. After a few weeks of consultations I was back on action and feeling great. I have kept up with the exercises prescribed on a daily basis, & would definitely recommend his practice to anyone going through similar conditions as of mine.

Fantastic experience: I have had pain all my life from being born with an extra vertebrae that caused many different issues with pain I have tried reiki acupuncture chiropractors doctors and rheumatologist. All helped for a while or not at all then I went to Anthony and after 12 sessions my pain had rejuiced considerably and that's were I'm at right now off all opioids just using paracetamol for pain it's the best outcome I have ever had and I can go to Anthony anytime I need, thanks Anthony.

Fantastic experience: I had hurt my lower back in my mid-teens, but had put up with it for years without ever having it seen to. I had been to other physiotherapists in my early twenties, but never seemed to make any progress. By the time I went to Advanced Physio I had started to suffer from quite bad sciatica, which affected my ability to work/study and had also kept me sidelined from competing as a cyclist for a number of years. The initial screening was very comprehensive and the issue I had been suffering from (regarding alignment and stiffening of joints in my lumber and lower thoracic spine) was diagnosed straight away. This allowed for effective treatment to commence immediately. Despite the length of time I had been suffering from back problems my sciatica symptoms were relieved within the first two to three weeks and I was back exercising within two months, which was a major change having spent the last two-three years struggling to string together any sort of routine without a relapse of symptoms. Major positives of the experience included a fast efficient service (I never found it took up much of my time and I was always seen to on time), I was given the opportunity to discuss my condition in depth and ask questions, which proved invaluable and not only helped me better understand what was causing my problem, but has also enabled me to manage my back and continue to improve long after receiving treatment from Anthony.

Fantastic experience: I have attended Advance Physio Waterford several times and have received excellent help each time. The last time was when my neck and shoulder muscles were so tight that I had to take pain relieving medication to relieve the pain. After one treatment by Anthony, the pain left within a few days. Months later, it has not returned. I can highly recommend going to Anthony for any back or leg pain. The receptionist is very friendly and efficient, and will look after you very well.

Fantastic experience: Very professional service. My lower neck and shoulders were quite stiff for some time prior to visiting Anthony. After a couple of visits, I could feel significant improvement. From sticking to the exercises prescribed by Anthony, thankfully, all is now good with my neck and shoulders.

Fantastic experience: I recently went to Anthony in the Advance Physio Clinic with a shoulder and hip injury. I couldn't exercise with my hip pain, even a walk hurt and my shoulder prevented me from getting a good nights sleep. Anthony is excellent he explained in detail how my spine and ribs were contributing to both problems, and after completing my program he has achieved amazing results. The pain in my hip is completely gone and my shoulder has full movement again which i struggled with for years. The digital photo of my spine showed how crooked i was going in and was almost at 100% straight on completion. The clinic has free parking right outside the door and the girls in reception are super friendly and helpful. Even with the covid restrictions i felt very safe there. I would highly recommend Anthony and his team.

Fantastic experience: I started getting physio with Anthony a few months ago and at the time when it began I could barely walk with back pain and severe sciatica pains and nerve damage down my right leg. Anthony advised me to come for physio three times a week for a few weeks to get to the root of the problem which was my right hip and two middle discs in my back. Being honest I was sceptical at the beginning and this was only because I had tried everything to fix my back and had paid so much money on other people to fix me and it made no difference. I started to notice a relief in the pain in my leg first after maybe two weeks and then gradually my back became better and better as the weeks past. The pain eased significantly until there was none anymore and I could once again walk and do housework and work and do all the things I used to do without pain. Also I was taking a lot of strong anti inflammatory and prescription painkillers which made me feel awful And I am Now not taking any pain relief. I have nothing but positive words to say about Advance Physio.

Fantastic experience: Tony has been treating me for years and years. First in Limerick where he originally had his business and now in Waterford. Tony is the best in the business. Not only did he treat me for ongoing back pain, he also treated my brother who is a plumber with a serious back injury but also treated my elderly mother who had Parkinson's Disease and had ongoing neck pain. She trusted Tony implicitly as we all did. Tony is an expert who is constantly working on his skills and his craft and takes great pride in doing so. He is an innovator when it comes to pain relief. Fantastic experience: I was suffering badly with chronic knee pain, stiffness and on weight bearing pain. Pain was torture. I was taking a lot of O.T.C pain killers with little effect. Then I decided to attend Anthony Phelan the physical therapist at The Cove Centre, in the beginning I went for treatment twice a week. As I started to feel less pain after a few weeks. I was then able to cut back to once a week for treatment. Anthony gave me low impact exercises to do at home which I found also helped very much. I was then able to cut back on pain killers & move better and move pain free. I found Advance Physio had a pleasant atmosphere, very helpful with getting appointments that suited me. I recommend anyone to go here and have no hesitation going back to him again myself as got great relief.

I was able to go back to work a week after my treatment began. Fantastic experience: I have had back issues for a long time . Have gone down all the usually roots got sorted for a while then in pain again! I ended up trying Anthony in Advance Physio after 3 years of pain from what others has said was bursitis in my hip joint in a number of places! ,and the constant nagging pain in my back. When I got up one morning and decided I wanted to shoot myself because of the pain I knew it was time to look again to find someone to help!! After being left black and blue and in pain from other Physio and other treatment Only to find when the pain went from treatments I was still in pain with back and Hip!!! So That’s how I ended up with Advance Physio! 18 months since my last visit and pain free all that time! Needless to say I am delighted as I thought I had to put up with the pain for the rest of my life! Went yesterday to to have an overhaul and make sure it stays that way when Anthony reminded me it was 18 months since I had been!!! When your in pain it seems to go on forever! When your out of pain you forget and when it starts again it seems like it had not stopped !!! Money well spent and no bruising from treatments. Took a little while to kick in but it’s like peeling an onion layer by layer. Anthony told me how it worked what to expected and when that encourage me as it happened as he said so I knew it was working. Kate was a pleasure to deal with always helpful with appointments. Anthony Got me out of Pain so what can I say but Thank You. Would highly recommend going here after my experience with back and hip pain to pain free.

Fantastic experience: Started having an issue with my shoulder a while back where i couldnt lift it higher than my neck without pain, clicking, or cracking. It affected me in work and in my hobbies. My doctor initially wanted to send me for an MRI, but did suggest a physio as well. After a little googling, i found Anthonys practice and came highly recommended from friends too. I wasnt disappointed. Very polite and professional describes them perfectly. Kate at the desk is very helpful and informative, and a pleasure to talk to. Anthony was quick to diagnose my issue, and subsequent treatments have resulted in massive improvement in my shoulder. I have full use of it with no pain, no clicking or cracking, and only catches once in a while. I cannot recommend them enough if you need a physio!

Fantastic experience: I went to advanced physio when i got syathia and i have to say from walking in the front door to talk to kate to meet with anthony and go through the plan of what was wrong and where to start to the end result 8 weeks afterwards is unbelievable. They managed to get me from a guy who had to get a lift to the sessions to been able to drive myself. The five stars i put on this post and my words probably dont even give the guys the justice they deserve for the incredible work they do and always with a smile on their face and an ear to listen to you, allow you time to say what want before giving you an answer, i cannot say it enough if u have back problems here is the place you need to go to.

Fantastic experience: Hi I went to Anthony with Leg pain. I could not stand or walk for more than 10 minutes at a time. My leg would go rigid and I had to stop. This made everyday tasks very difficult. Anthony diagnosed the area causing the trouble, and after a few sessions with Anthony and some simple exercises I can walk and stand for much longer periods of time. And am improving still.
